Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is a foundational element of Traditional East Asian medicine, originating with the legendary Shen Nong around 2500 BCE, who cataloged over 365 medical plants through systematic observation. Around 1500 BCE, Yi Yin advanced herbal practice by developing compound formulas that enhanced therapeutic effects while reducing toxicity, establishing the principle of synergistic formulation. Over centuries, physicians continued to test and document herbal properties. This knowledge culminated in Li Shizhen’s Ming Dynastyynasty masterpiece, Bencao Gangmu, which detailed thousands of plant, mineral, and animal substances. Contemporary pharmacological and biomedical research increasingly supports these traditions by identifying active compounds, mechanisms of action, and clinical efficacy. We specialize in herbal medicine for gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic disorders, and immunology disorders. We prescribe herbal medicines that adhere to stringent standards of quality, safety, and efficacy in both Taiwan and the United States. The pharmaceutical manufacturer was established in 1946 in Taiwan by Dr. Hong-Yen Hsu, who is widely recognized as the “Father of Scientific Chinese Herbal Medicine” for his groundbreaking work in modernizing herbal extraction and standardization methods.

Our Cancellation Policy

We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for all appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Exceptions may be made in cases of genuine emergency or illness. Appointments that are missed or canceled without sufficient notice will be subject to a late cancellation fee of $80 for new patient appointments and $50 for follow-up visits. Please note that these fees are not covered by insurance and are the patient’s responsibility.
